(Actually my friend Rebecca wrote this and created the slideshow but it's my first attempt at Blogging so I copied her. Thanks R! :) )
Easter weekend 2008 we went to Samburu Game Park with a couple of friends. We camped in tents one night and stayed in a lodge the second night. The girls weren't quite as excited about the tent camping as Roland, let me tell you why. We got to the camp site and we were pretty much attacked by baboons. They were everywhere. And they are fast - one swooped in and ran at Mendy when she was getting the food out of the car. So the girls had to sit in the car to eat our lunch, while Roland so kindly set up our tents. The baboons climbed all over the car and looked at us through the windshield. Then all of a sudden all the baboons started screeching and running towards something. We were camping on the side of a dried up river. Standing in the middle of the riverbed was the biggest elephant. It was pretty scary (but also kind of cool). Two days later as we were leaving the park we saw this same elephant and he once again charged us. We think he was stalking us. But other than that, it was a great time. It is always fun to get out of the city and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Kenya.
